The Viking's Voyage began in 1969 while the trio was in high school. The original members of the group are Eric McClinton, Phillip Taylor, Clifford Moore. Popcorn Wylie was the group's producer or owner of the label that the Vibrations recorded on. Vibrations was a No. 1 hit record in Detroit and sold over 1,000,000 copies. Their first gold record "Vibrations" was released the summer of 1970. The group was actually too young to be in the night clubs where they performed but they worked consistently around the Ohio, Michigan, Illinois tri state area and far east coast venues. The Vikings recorded for Motown and have been releasing independent music since then.
