Viola Wells

Blues and jazz singer, born December 14, 1902 in Newark, N.J., died December 22, 1984 in Belville, N.J.
Wells was a professional singer already in the late 1920s, in the late 1930s singing with well-known jazz musicians such as Bunny Berigan, Charlie Barnet, and Claude Hopkins, but didn't make records until 1944-1945, when she recorded for Savoy, as Miss Rhapsody.
