Real name: Lisbeth Marianne Scherer

Swedish journalist, presenter, columnist and author, born December 2, 1943 in Varberg, Halland County. She has led a number of programs on SVT. Since 1975, she has written more than twenty books.
Scherer was born and raised in Varberg. She has worked with programs in Swedish Television and, among other things, has been the host of Sweden's magazine, Kvällsöppet and Nattcafé. She has also worked as a columnist for the Cooperative Association's magazine Mersmak.
Maria Scherer made her debut as a writer in 1974 and had an international breakthrough with the love-oriented trilogy The Emperor's Waltz, The Silver Trumpet and The Masquerade Ball.
