Kitsyke Will

Members: Patrick Grundy-White, Peadar Long, John Burge (2)

This 70s North Yorkshire, UK three-piece folk group originally comprised Peadar Long (b. Dublin, Eire; clarinet, whistles, flute, saxophone, vocals), Bob Thomas (b. Peebles, Scotland; vocals, bodhran, Northumberian pipes), and Tony Bayliss (b. Yorkshire, England; vocals, guitar, cittern). Other later members have included Patrick Gundry-White (French horn, harmonium, vocals), and John Burge (guitar, bouzouki, fiddle, banjo, vocals). Devil’s Ride, their only release, was a crossover jazz and folk recording, combining original material with traditional numbers.

After Kitsyke Will folded Long performed and recorded with other artists concentrating on jazz, classical and world music. Bayliss went on to play and compose music for television and joined the Exeter, Devon-based folk band Jiggerpipery. In the 00s, Thomas was a member of the Wakefield-based soul and R&B band the Solicitors, alongside Mick Doonan from the Doonan Family Band.
