Deathmøle is a fictional post-metal band created by cartoonist Jeph Jacques that releases actual music over the internet, all of which is played by Jacques. Based in Northhampton, Massachusetts, Jacques introduced the band in 2005 with strip 554 of his webcomic Questionable Content. The fictional band is composed of three comic characters: Marten Reed (Lead Guitar), Amir Afridi (Bass Guitar), and Hannelore Ellicott-Chatham (Drums). Until 2008, the band also included the character Natasha (Sonic Texturalist/Keyboard). Jeph first released Deathmøle songs online through livejournal, switching to tumblr, and then Bandcamp. His tenth album, Permanence, was funded through Kickstarter and is the first Deathmøle album to receive a physical release.
