Romanian pianist with gypsy roots, born in 1924 in Brăila, died in 1974 in Amsterdam. Brother of violin player Gregor Serban.In the 1930s, Colea and his family of musicians moved to The Netherlands, via Russia and Germany. He studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.
Colea played the piano as if it was a cimbalom. In 1974, at the age of 50, he was drugged and died.
