Irish classical violinist.
Born c.1940.
Sister of pianist Eily O'Grady.
One of the best-known professional violin soloists out of Ireland in the classical field. She began her violin studies in Dublin, won all major awards in Ireland and was given a scholarship by the Irish Government which enabled her to continue her studies in Paris under Jean Fournier.
Later she obtained a place in the Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris, from which she graduated with a Premier Prix and First Place in 1955. During her career as a soloist, O'Grady has played in most European capitals.
For a number of years she was Leader of the 80-member Radio Telefis Eireann Symphony Orchestra.
