Tanya Day

Effective period / Period of releases: 1965

Female vocalist active in the early 1960s, managed by Reg and Dorothy Calvert. She had a regular backing band called The Somebodys. She was by accounts a "ballsy" and "raucous and energetic" live performer who had "a very sexy act for the times"
In 1962 she was resident singer at The Co-Op Club in Nuneaton. She performed at The Star Club in Hamburg and was featured on a Polydor compilation of Star Club acts. She seems to have had one single released on Polydor, "His Lips Get In the Way", which was previously recorded by The Shirelles. The B Side, "I Get So Lonely" had the dubious honour of being featured by the DJ Kenny Everett on his show of the World's Worst Records.
