Biography

Edwin Erickson
Swedish descendant from Canada, accordion player and songwriter, born April 20, 1950 in Edmonton, Alberta.
He spent the first 6 years of his life, partly in the logging camps which his father operated in the foothills and partly on the farm near Drayton Valley, a small community west of Edmonton.
He began his musical career at the age of 15, when his parents bought him a chromatic accordion. He soon began playing for old time dances and does so to this day. In his early years he was fortunate to have George Sveen as his teacher and then progress to becoming a student of Olaf Sveen, who has helped him immensely in the past years and became valuable friend.
He has been teaching accordion and has played in numerous places such as, Edmonton's Jubilee Auditorium, a two week tour of Northern Sweden well as radio and television studios in the Edmonton area. He has also cone à considerable amount of musical compositions for the accordion. Edwin was married in 1970 and his wife, Pauline.
