Age van der Velde (1955, Groningen) is a singer and songwriter who still lives in the city of Groningen. At the age of 15, he already played as a singer-guitarist in the band The Beathunters.
Van der Velde has been composing, writing and singing songs in Groningen since 1996. That year he was already a participant in the Northern Netherlands Song Festival with his first Groningen song Mien Oosterpoort.
Van der Velde also writes poems and stories.
In daily life, Age van der Velde is a personnel officer at the University of Groningen. His songs describe everyday things and his love for the Groningen country. Wia Buze and Fransien Kuiper also contributed to his third disc
