Luigi Colazza

Luigi Colazza was an Italian Tenor Opera singer.Born 1868 Roma – 1927 Trieste.
He studied in Rome with Aramis Toussan and later in Milan with Ranieri Baragli. He made his debut in 1892 at the Quirino in Rome in Norma. In 1897/98, Colazza sang with the first season of the Italian opera in Holland. Subsequently he sang throughout Europe at all the major houses of the time - Milan, Venice, Trieste, Rijeka, pula, Naples, Torino, Piza, genoa, Bologna, Lisbon, Barcelona etc, as well as South America in Montevideo.
He had a voice similar to Galli. His medium and high registers mixed well, were powerful, and he had a nice timbre. His repertory also included: Turiddu, Pollione, Siegmund, Samson, Tannhäuser, Ruy Blas, Raoul, José, ...
He retired around 1918.
After retiring, he taught singing in Trieste.

He died in 1927.
