Georgian romantic poet, translator. A man with a difficult fate. Now he is called a “classic of Georgian literature,” but not a single line of poetry was published during his lifetime. For the first time, several of Baratashvili's poems were published only seven years after his death. Only after the publication of a collection of his poems in Georgian in 1876, Baratashvili became one of the most popular poets in Georgia.
