Alexander Labinsky (February 22, 1894, Russia - July 9, 1963, Paris) - Russian professor, conductor, teacher, composer. He studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory with Jāzeps Vītols (theory of composition), N. N. Cherepnin and Emil Cooper (conducting). From 1919 to 1921 he directed the choir class at the conservatory. In 1921 he emigrated to France, where in 1923 he began active work as a pianist-accompanist, and then as a conductor and teacher.
Labinsky was a professor of opera and vocal classes at the Russian Conservatory in Paris, a conductor and concertmaster of the Russian Opera. He was one of the most famous and respected Russian musicians in France. Labinskiy's ecclesiastical activity falls on the last period of his life.
