American theater and film actress, singer, and dancer. (Born April 1, 1929, Portland, Oregon, USA – died September 16, 2021, Wilton, Connecticut, USA)She charted once on the U.S. charts "True Love" (written by Cole Porter) in 1956, which rose to #15. She began singing professionally at the age of 12 and signed a contract with MGM at 14 and appeared in her first film at 15. Powell appeared in films, television and on the stage. In 1960, Powell was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
