According an interview with John Lydon in "Muziekkrant OOR" (30/1/1980, page 28), he was supposed to produce the recording session but fell asleep after imbibing a bottle of champagne. When he woke up, the session was finished. His credit was used on the record nonetheless!
According to an interview with Youth in "NME" (27/10/1990), it was really Youth who produced the session.
