All four members of the band are songwriters and veterans of notable old time bands with a common interest in old time music with harmony singing and dance grooves. Emanating from a tradition that began in the 1970s of musical crossover between the Old Time Music centers in Ithaca, New York (Highwoods, Correctones) and Lexington, VA (Plank Road, Ace Weems and the Fat Meat Boys) that are a 12 hour drive apart.
