Real name: Константин Степанович Сорокин

Константин Степанович Сорокин was born on January 11, 1909 in the village of Levada in the Podolsk region.
In 1929 he graduated from the Kiev Lysenko Institute of Music and Drama in the piano class of K. N. Mikhailov, and in 1934 from the Moscow Conservatory in the piano class of K. N. Igumnov, in 1945 - postgraduate studies also with Igumnov. In 1947, A.N. Alexandrova.
Lecturer at the Music School in Kirov (1937-1939, 1941-1944) and the Music School at the Moscow Conservatory (1953-1956). In 1945-1969 - senior editor, then head of the editorial staff of the Muzgiz ("Music") publishing house.
