Real name: Kathryn Janssen Nero

American soprano (born July 9, 1923 in Antrim, PA – died April 23, 2018 in Los Angeles, CA)

Trained as an operatic soprano at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia, Steele married fellow Curtis graduate, violinist Paul Nero (2) in 1942.

After both relocated to Los Angeles in 1948, she recorded many covers of current pop hits with budget labels such as Ace-Hi Hits, Music Masters (2), and 'Pop' Hits.
