Former German Police Orchestra in Hannover, founded in 1951 with the establishment of the Federal Border Guard. Under the first conductor, the music master Martin Kothe, around 30 mostly former military musicians and police musicians played. After complete police training, these had trained and qualified as lay musicians. The performances took place at official ceremonies and at charity concerts to represent the young organization in public.
