The Morticians

Effective period / Period of releases: 1966

Members: Joe Dudish, James O'Lexa, Barry Wright (3), Jerry Clymer (2)

Originally Joey D. and the Four Kings, these high schoolers from Bethlehem, PA were promoted and recorded by WEEX dee jay, Jay Edwards. Prompted to change their name to the Morticians upon being signed to Roulette Records, they began donning black suits onstage. While popular at local fraternity parties and the Alibi Lounge in Atlantic City, the Morticians were unable to tour Europe, so their label subsequently lent lesser support. Band members went their separate ways in 1969.

Joe Dudish (vocal)
James O'Lexa (lead guitar)
Jerry Clymer (keyboards)
Barry Wright (drums)
Russ Nicrone (bass)
