Yukiko was known by her nickname Yuyu, and her solo releases were simultaneously released with both her full name and nickname.

From June 21, 1985 until August 31, 1987, Yukiko was a member of the all-girl Idol group Onyanko Club, in which she was member #19. Along with member #16 Mamiko Takai, Yukiko was half of the Onyanko Club sub-unit Idol group Ushiroyubi Sasaregumi.

She is the younger in a set of identical twins, both who modeled for the hobby magazine Model Graphix.
