Phil Smee

Real name: Philip Lloyd-Smee

Designer, collector, journalist, consultant and compiler for the music industry, who has been working for all the major labels for the past 30 years, specialising in reissues and repackaging compilations based on his archives. His design studio is known as Waldo's Design & Dream Emporium, previously Waldo's Design. In addition he was owner of Bam-Caruso Records from 1983 to 1992 and owner/A&R/producer/designer of Waldo's Records from 1977 to 1982.
Other labels he has designed for: Ace, Apple, Charisma, Chess, Chiswick, Decca, Demon, Edsel, Elektra, EMI, Esoteric, F-Beat, Harvest, Island, Liberty, Mercury, Polydor, PRT, RCA, Rhino, Ryko, Sanctuary, Sony/CBS, Stiff, UA, Vertigo, Virgin, Warners, and stacks of smaller labels.
Artists he's worked with include: Julian Cope, Elvis Costello, The Damned, Elton John, Nick Lowe, Paul McCartney, Madness, Morrissey, Motörhead, Pogues, Proclaimers, Status Quo, Donna Summer, Richard Thompson, Robert Wyatt and 1000s more ... ànd the "Live Aid" logo.
