The "Banda De Concierto Del Ejército De Chile", dependent on the División de Bienestar "Servicio de Bandas", was created in 1963 by the then Chief of the Service, Lieutenant Colonel Jorge Fernando Castro Castro.

The idea was born with the purpose of balancing the "Gran Banda del Cuartel de Santiago", transforming it into the "Banda de Concierto del Ejército" with an organization of 120 musicians selected from the instrumental bands of the Santiago, Puente Alto and San Bernardo garrisons.
