Actor. Born in San Francisco, California, he was a comic performer and vaudevillian. He appeared in his first Broadway show in 1913. He was a regular in Broadway musical comedies and on radio when entered films appearing in "Follow the Leader" (1930). His other film credits include "When Do We Eat" (1934), "School for Romance" (1934) and he was the screen writer for the film "Ziegfeld Follies" (1946). For television, he appeared on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson", "The Ed Sullivan Show", "Jack Parr's Tonight Show" and "The Merv Griffin Show". He died in Beverly Hills, California, at age 87.
