Ruben Walker

Pianist who accompanied blues singer Evelyn Brickey on two titles in 1925.
Born c. 1904. Roosevelt Sykes said: "He was great - played in Helena, Arkansas." Champion Jack Dupree remembered going to rent parties in Chicago with Pinetop Smith, Fisher, and a pianist called Ruben. Solid blues piano, partly within the St Louis school (Henry Brown, Peetie Wheatstraw, Walter Davis, Wesley Wallace, Buck McFarland, Stump Johnson, Sylvester Palmer, and others).
