Zambian Singer, musician and songwriter

Greg Miyanda was a Zambian singer, musician and songwriter who came into prominence in Zambia in the early 1980's. In the mid 1970's, he was a member of the short lived Osaye along with Harry Mwale. The band recorded at least three singles before their break up, at least one song of which was used in Mwale's 1978 Zamrock album, Harry Mwale Experience. Following the break up, Miyanda worked for Teal in their sales and marketing department. With the support of Teal, he engaged in solo work, performing mainly Kalindula style music and releasing numerous popular singles through the mid 1980's. Several singles credit Funika Band as the backing band for his work but it is unclear what other artists he may have worked with. His last known single was from 1986. He passed away some time in the late 80's.
