Swedish jazz band from Västernorrland that was formed in 1973.

They are considered one of the best bands in the world when it comes to New Orleans music and has made itself internationally known as a skilled interpreter of the various styles of music that formed the basis of New Orleans jazz.

For more than 40 years, Barfota Jazzmen, with members from Härnösand and Sundsvall, have played traditional jazz and especially the orchestra's ragtime interpretations have received their recognition and attracted attention. Over the years, the band has enjoyed great appreciation, not least on the other side of the Atlantic. They have been releasing their records on American record companies for many years and are praised for their traditional jazz in the American jazz press. The band certainly has well-known numbers in the repertoire and a certain weakness for Bunk Johnson and Jelly Roll Morton, but has also over the years dug up old music, compositions that in some cases have never been played before, not even in the US. A visit to see and listen to Barefoot Jazzmen is a must for every true friend of the original jazz music.
