Mike Snider

Real name: William Michael Snider

Effective period / Period of releases: 1986 - 1987

American bluegrass banjo player, born May 30, 1961 in Gleason, Tennessee.
In 1983, Snider was crowned winner of the National Banjo Championship at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas.
In 1994, he was asked to appear as a guest performer on the Grand Ole Opry in 1984. On June 20, 1990, country comedian Minnie Pearl inducted Snider as an official member of the Opry. Snider continues to perform regularly on the Opry show.
Snider gained popularity from his Opry appearances and caught the attention of the producers for HeeHaw and joined the cast of the syndicated television program in 1987.
Snider and his band also performed a 7 year residency at Nashville’s Opryland USA.
