Mike Harding is a folk musician and historian from Taranaki, New Zealand. He is also guitarist and vocalist in Gumboot Tango.
For several years he has specialised in performing, recording, researching and promoting New Zealand songs, from early folk ballads to recent rock-and-roll.
Along the way, he has unearthed a wealth of locally flavoured material, much of witch is virtually unknown. "When The Pakeha Sings Of Home" enables these songs to be rediscovered, used and enjoyed. His songs are frequently heard on radio, and the series which the book is named after have been broadcast several times by Radio New Zealand
