Romanian operatic soprano, born 16 June 1926 in the Someşul Rece village near Apuseni Mountains. Graduated in 1949 at the National Music Conservatory of Bucharest and became a singer at the National Opera of Cluj Napoca where she was the director between 1970 and 1975. She had been living in Livorno, Italy since 1979. In 2012 she wrote her autobiography.
