Real name: Christopher John Copping
Chris Copping was born in Middleton, Lancashire, England on the 29 of August, 1945. He played keyboards and bass guitar for Procol Harum from 1970 until their first split in 1978. Before that, he worked with Gary Brooker and other future PH members in the Paramounts. On "Home", the band's first album with Copping, he played both organ and bass guitar, then he played only organ and sometimes other keyboards from 1972 until 1976. Then, the band recruited Pete Solley on keyboards for "Something Magic" and Copping returned to play bass guitar only, on this album, the band's last album of the seventies.
