Slim Green
Real name: Elmer Oliver

Jazz singer, guitarist and dancer, who recorded for Decca between August 7, 1935 and January 20, 1936. He may have been from Indianapolis, IN, and was a popular entertainer in the midwest and was known for his flashy clothes and style. He occasionally went by "Ollie Green" or "Simp Green". Slim Green was in the pre-Ink Spots group "The Four Riff Brothers" in 1932-33 and likely influenced members of that group, particularly Deek Watson. Died of pneumonia on April 22, 1938. He is the subject of Shorty Bob Parker's "Death Of Slim Green".
