The Honeytones, a female quartet, made waves in the music scene during the 1950s. In 1955, they concluded a highly successful engagement at Harlem's Baby Grand.

The group's lineup consisted of; Shirley Kee, aged 20, and the Givens sisters Jacqueline, 18, Gloria, 19, and Grace, 21. Originating from Jersey City, N.J., all four members juggled their passion for music with their high school studies, often seen completing homework backstage between their performances.

Their journey in show business dates back to 1951 when they clinched victory on the Mack Amateur Hour show. The Honeytones left their mark on the recording industry with two singles, released under both Mercury and Wing Records. Wing Records, a subsidiary of Mercury, was established in 1955, providing the group with a platform to showcase their talent to a wider audience.
