Majamisty Trio, ensemble from Novi Sad, Serbia explores the space between jazz and classical music, occasionally expanding the possibilities of the traditional jazz piano trio by adding a vocal part which is treated as an instrument equal to the others. The trio’s lyrical style originates in the author’s long experience in classical music and her affinity with jazz, thus finding an original path that paints subtle moods and emotions. Inspired by the beauty of her hometown Alvanović’s impressionistic compositions are spiced by hints of a Balkan musical heritage.
