杵屋五三助 (1st generation Kineya Gosasuke), 1918 - 2013. Born 増田元弘 (Motohiro Masuda), he studied with 2nd generation Kineya Gosaburo. In 1936 he took the name 杵屋五三助 (1st generation Kineya Gosasuke) and used it for performance and recordings until 1978 when he took the name 杵屋五三郎 (3rd generation Kineya Gosaburo).
