Le Cliché is electronic musician, visual artist and university professor Gerard Ryan, originally from Limerick (Ireland), residing in Barcelona, Catalonia.
His music is inspired by synth and electro pop acts of the early 1980s and the 2000s. The dominant themes behind the music and visuals are consumers and consumption, consumer society and postmodern marketing.
As well as releasing music on labels (from Spain, France, Germany, the UK and the USA), Le Cliché produces visually elaboarate artwork for limited editions of vinyl albums, for his own music and for others. His work has been displayed as part of the Victoria & Albert Museum's exhibition on the Art of Selling Songs at the Ulster Museum.
