Mighty Conqueror
Real name: Leroy Paul
Caplypsonian. Born 1939. Died 2011.Conqueror began singing in the mid-1950s and joined the Calypso Revue Tent. By the early 1960s, he had become a popular calypsonian with his songs "Trinidad Dictionary" and "Women and Money" (1962). He later migrated to the USA in the 1970s where he continued singing, but returned to Trinidad & Tobago every Carnival season to perform at the Vintage Kaiso Brigade Tent. He was scheduled to perform at the Calypso Revue Tent during the 2011 Carnival season when he met his untimely death. His other calypsoes included "Fresh Water Yankee," "Is You Straight?" "For Cough," and "Pussin Eaters."
