Real name: Μάρκος Βαμβακάρης

Rokos was the name of Μάρκος Βαμβακάρης' grandfather (a lyricist himself).
He used this pseudonym either during the divorce proceedings or after the divorce from his first wife, Ελένη Μαυρουδή (Eleni Mavroudi, 1905-1998) whom he had married when he was 18 years old, who claimed rights from his songs. For the same reason, he registered about 20 of his songs in the names of his friends like Σπύρος Περιστέρης (2), Γιώργος Φωτίδας/Α. Παγκαλάκης, Μίνως Μάτσας et al.
In this way, he managed to prevent his ex-wife from getting any money from his songs.
