Dominican singer Ramón de los Santos, better known artistically as Aníbal Bravo, was born on April 24, 1956 in Las Matas de Farfán, San Juan de la Maguana. At the age of 15 he joined the municipal music band of his town. Later he formed a small musical group with his brothers Teónilo, Emilio, Fernando and Miguel.
Aníbal Bravo y su Orquesta were a well known merengue orchestra in the 70's, 80's and 90's.
Affectionately known as "El Comandante"
