Cecil Broadhurst
Real name: Cecil Arthur Broadhurst
Canadian artist, songwriter, actor and playwright. Initially a painter, the Great Depression led him to focus on songwriting and the theatre. He wrote over a hundred cowboy songs and performed one of them in the 1940 film "Susan and God".He associated himself with the Moral Re-Armament movement (MRA) and in 1951 wrote and co-starred in their Broadway production of his musical "Jotham Valley". His play, "The Cowboy Christmas" was produced in many countries, often as part of MRA campaigns.
He returned to painting full-time in the 1960s and established a reputation as one of the West's finest artists at his studio in Arivaca, Arizona.
