Dark Monarchy was spawned in 2001 under the guidance of Imperator Oktober to be a weapon against humanity and an expression of anti-life philosophy. The original incarnation included Purgatoria (bass) and Nekross (guitar) and the original sounds were a combination of Bathory-worship and atmospheric terror noise. Various session members contributed their input and essence including; Erech Morgoth, Diabolis, Holocaust, Bellicose (Death in Xstacy), Thorgil (Blackthorn), Mortegrim, and Wrathos.
