Guiem Soldevila

Guiem Soldevila is a musician, singer, and composer from Minorca, born on December 12th, 1980.Early in his career he played in groups such as the Manners, Six Fusion, Lapsus and Songrey and with them, he toured Minorca, Catalonia and England.
Since 2004, after finishing his studies at the Aula de Música Moderna in Barcelona, he started composing for dance performances, poetry shows and soundtracks accompanying images, as well as producing albums for different artists.
In 2008, he published his first album Orígens [Origins] (Ona Digital), a collection of original songs and instrumental music. The CD release tour in 2008 and 2009 brought together a great team of musicians with whom he toured Minorca, Majorca and France.
In 2010, in a more acoustic format, he received the Rec Play award in Palma (Majorca) and performed at the Mercat de Música Viva in Vic, the Espai Mallorca in Barcelona and the Espai Octubre in Valencia.
In 2011, he released his second album, Nura (Blau, discmedi), where he set music to poems by the Minorcan writer Ponç Pons.
For this album, he had a more intimate launch with live CD release concerts in 2012 and 2013 in Minorca, Majorca and Catalonia. He played at La Jazz Cava in Terrassa, the Cafè del Teatre in Lleida and Òmnium Cultural in Barcelona, amongst other venues.
He was a finalist for the Miquel Martí i Pol award in the Terra i Cultura contest, with his songs “Godotus” and “Teoria de l’absència” [Theory of absence].
In 2014, he will publish his third album Amoramort (Blau, discmedi).
