Kalishnikov is an industrial/powernoise project conceived in late 2002 and early 2003 by Joshua Mann and Ian Slutzky; after experimenting with several other bands. Their interest in black metal, which had been manifested in bands Corvus and Malleus Maleficarum, gave way to more industrial tastes, and the duo began writing music with the Jeskola Buzz tracker program.
