The Nubian all-star ensemble Salamat was a world Music ensemble formed in Germany by Piranha. The group was made up of various Nubian and Egyptian artists and lead by the percussionist Mahmoud Fadl. They toured Europe 1994 - 1998 providing Western listeners with an understanding of the Nubian elements of Egyptian music.
Each of their releases (4 CDs) features a unique ensemble of Nubian musicians, often stars in their home countries but unknown to most Western listeners
