Lloyd Steinkamp
Real name: Lloyd Barry Steinkamp
Barbershop tenor/bari/bass vocalist, choral director, musical arranger, and vocal coach.Born on December 3, 1927 in New York. Lloyd became a legend in the Barbershop Harmony Society.
Lloyd was the director of the Phoenicians from 1963 to 1966 and lead them to a district championship in 1968.
Lloyd sang tenor with the 1957 Far Western District Champions, the Desert Knights and competing in international with them in 1958.
Lloyd coached countless quartets and choruses throughout his life but likely his most notable one was the Most Happy Fellows. He organized their whole “Wizard Of Oz” package.
Lloyd served as the Field Representative for the Barbershop Harmony Society for 11 years and started 174 chapters during those 11 years.
Lloyd arranged several different pieces of music for quartets over the years. Some include, “It’s A Good Day”, “Heart Of A Clown”, and “Wizard Of Oz Medley.”
Lloyd died on January 3, 2007 at the age of 79.
