Famous Indian rudra veena player, born in 1937 in Alwar, died 14 June 2011 in New Delhi. Musician in the seventh generation, he was the last surviving master of one of the four schools of dhrupad, the Khandar school. Ustad Asad Ali Khan has also been a professor of music at Delhi University.
