Soberanía Personal

Effective period / Period of releases: 1988

Hardcore punk band from Buenos Aires, Argentina

Soberanía Personal ("Personal Sovereignty") got not only their name from a line in a classic La Polla Records song but also continued the musical direction of the Spanish band, as it can be seen in their own compositions and in the two covers of their mentors' tunes which appeared in their only release. The band formed in Buenos Aires in 1987 from the ashes of less known punk bands such as Licor de Semen with the line up of Johanna (vocals), Jóse Luis (guitar), Oscar (bass) and Mariano (drums). In 1988 they released the Benditos sean muñecos que pegan cassette in a limited edition of 200 copies but seemed to split up and disappear soon afterwards.
