Barry Nesbitt was a Canadian Scot whose career took off as a radio singer in 1942. He built a following based on his neo-traditional presentations of Irish, Scottish, and Canadian variety music. With and without his band The Highlanders, he was a mainstay of Canadian radio and television into the 1960s.
