Broken Keys is the electronic side project of Tommy Sheridan aka Chemist of Cleveland Hip Hop duo, Smoke Screen. What started as an alternative project consisting of Sheridan playing guitar and singing into a dusty sampler ("Stop Motion EP" circa 2012) slowly evolved into minimal, groovy dance tunes reminiscent of the UK bass movement. All while remaining consistent with source material coming from live instruments, field recordings, and vocal samples.

A fixture in the Cleveland Electronic/Hip Hop communities for over 10 years, Broken Keys has performed and DJ’d everywhere from New York City, Detroit, and Los Angeles to Austin, Houston, and Honolulu as well as releasing music on domestic and international record labels.
