Afro-Jazz singer from SenegalBorn in Guinea of Senegalese parents, Aminata Fall is a singer-songwriter. She sings in Wolof (mother tongue), Bambara, French and English and accompanies herself on the piano. Her Style is World Music: A mixture of West African rhythms and Western influences. She is also known to fusion her style with Jazz, Funk and Soul elements
Her curriculum all began with learning the piano from the age of 10 in Sénégal in Dakar. After obtaining her Baccalauréat, Aminata continues her studies at the National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris. While still studying, she takes parallel courses with various jazz musicians in Paris among whom is Memphis Slim. She sets up her first group in 1986 and made her first record in 1987.
